How to Decorate Your Shoes
Use our adorable, new “Stamp Soup” stamps from the eco friendly company Polkadoodles to turn your shoes into works of art!
Decorating shoes is pretty easy with these small, clear stamps that you can combine to make simple or complex designs.
The key is to put them on the smallest acrylic block possible before stamping. This makes it easier to roll the stamp over the curves of the shoe.
To make a solid stamping surface, stuff the shoe with paper or put your hand inside the shoe and press the stamp against it. Make sure you use fabric paint as the stamp “ink.” I found a fabric ink dauber that worked well. Use a black fabric pen to fill in lines that didn’t stamp completely.
I used larger stamps on the top of the foot and smaller ones elsewhere. Color images with fabric markers or fabric paint.
You may need to heat set the shoes by putting them in your dryer when you’re done. Check the instructions on the fabric paint.
It’s fun to decorate your shoes. Canvas shoes probably work best.
